Everest Bank Limited Welcomes Its First Nepali CEO
Everest Bank has welcomed Mr. Sudesh Khaling as its first Nepali Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Since its establishment 25 years ago, the joint venture bank with Punjab National Bank (PNB) had employed Indian nationals as its CEO. PNB currently holds 20% equity in Everest Bank.
Mr. Khaling has over 2 decades of experience in leadership positions in banks such as Standard Chartered Bank and Laxmi Bank. He had resigned from the board of directors of Citizens Bank six months earlier due to Nepal Rastra Bank’s (NRB) directive which has fixed a cooling period of six months between resigning and joining another financial institution for CEO’s and board of directors.
