Spiderman: No Way Home smashes box office records on its opening day!
Marvel Studios’ Spiderman: No Way Home hits the theatres creating box office records in its opening. With 253 USD in earnings through ticket sales, the movie is inarguably the biggest blockbuster of 2021.
The impaired cinema industry, due to the corona pandemic, has seen a major thrust with the release of Spiderman: No Way Home. With this huge success, the movie has become the “third best opening” movie of all time after Avengers: End Game (357.1 million USD) and Avengers: Infinity War (257.6 million USD).
Paul Dergarabedian, Senior Media Analyst at Comscore, remarked on Spiderman: No Way Home’s release as “the most important box-office weekend ever”. He further added “This is a real turning point. The road to recovery has been very difficult for movie theaters. So given what this industry has been through since March 2020, I would argue this is the most important weekend in box-office history because it represents movie theaters rising like a phoenix from an incredibly challenging and tough time where many counted out the movie theater for good.”
The distributor of No Way Home, Sony, played an applaudable role in marketing the movie. It spent a massive 202 million USDs to market the movie globally. This huge amount was invested to advertise the movie on social media and the gaming community with TikTok hosting a livestream of the movie’s premiere.
