Advertisement Board releases code of conduct; calls for suggestions
Nepal Advertisement Board has published its newly formulated policy regarding advertising affairs in the country. The policy looks to establish advertising as a regulated, transparent, disciplined, and competitive industry. This move by the Advertisement Board is a crucial landmark in the country as policies aiming to regulate the advertising sector from the government level have never been seen before. Moreover, the policy is a much-needed one as brands and advertisers in Nepal have resorted to unethical and unlawful advertising practices in the past.
The Advertisement board is also calling concerned individuals and parties to scrutinize the policy and provide their suggestions by 10th July for policy amendment. Thus, if you have any suggestions that will contribute to the refinement and betterment of the policy, feel free to email the Advertisement Board at [email protected].
However, the efficacy of the newly introduced policy is yet to be determined in regards to its applicability. Institutions as well as individuals are known to engage in unlawful and disorderly conduct by neglecting the governing regulations. Albeit the tainted state of corporate governance in the country, BrandGuff is hopeful that the advertising policy will work to establish the advertising industry as an ethical and lawful one.
