Elance Digital Media – Engineers turned Marketers shining in the industry
The global realm of marketing has seen revolutionary developments owing to technological progress, particularly in the digital sphere. Digital marketing is on its way to becoming the predominant marketing method because of the widespread accessibility of digital mediums by virtually anyone. As such, academia and training centers have begun offering digital marketing courses. These courses provide trainings about pivotal social media marketing strategies, influencer marketing techniques, and SEO optimization strategies and marketing tools that aid in efficient execution of marketing strategies.
Defying the convention, eLance Digital Media has a peculiar story that will surely provoke your thoughts. Little did the leading duo at eLance, Tarumita Samal and Anish Sah, know that they would be embarking on a marketing career when they were engineering students in India.
Marketers: Born or Made?
Anish Sah was pursuing his mechanical engineering degree at Gandhi Institute of Engineering and Technology when he met Tarumita Samal who was studying chemical engineering at the same university. Anish was also freelancing as a content writer to make a living for himself. He continued his studies in thermal engineering after finishing his bachelor’s degree, while simultaneously working as a freelancer. Meanwhile, Tarumita went to Gujarat to carry on with her studies and started working an administrative job in a college.
Anish came back to Nepal after his graduation and was looking for jobs in the hydropower sector. However, he had built a strong foundation in marketing avenues as a content writer over the years and made more money than what engineering jobs offered. This led to the inception of eLance Digital Media in 2017 with an investment of 5 lakh rupees.
The Reunion
Digital marketing was in its nascent stage in Nepal at the time. Elance started offering SEO training which was a relatively unknown domain in the country. Such kinds of digital marketing courses were high in demand and eLance was quickly able to capitalize on that. On one occasion, Anish and Tarumita met at a mutual friend’s wedding in Bangalore where the two came to terms to nurture eLance Digital Media in Nepal. From there onwards, the company established a full-fledged office, hired employees, and took up its pace.
Although the impending corona pandemic posed a major threat to the marketing industry, eLance was able to endure via digital marketing courses. The demand for such courses was still increasing as the state of online marketing remained unaffected by the resulting lockdown. As such, eLance was able to sustain its operating expenses by running digital marketing courses via Zoom. Furthermore, the company managed to secure several high-profile clients like Nepal SBI Bank, Hama Steels, Ashok Steels, and Premier Insurance while the lockdown was still in effect.
What is different at eLance?
Elance has become a notable marketing institution in the Nepalese industry. With its applaudable repertoire of digital marketing works and clients, the company is much sought-after by several prominent brands in the country. As such, the team at eLance is spared from the need to actively pitch and acquire new clients. Moreover, the company has positioned itself as an advertising, branding, and marketing firm that specializes in digitalization. Elance serves as the marketing partner of its clients and not simply an agency working for them.
Elance is the first marketing company in Nepal to operate a digital marketplace. The innovative marketplace features a digital store that has everything to fulfill your digital marketing necessities. From mere calendar designs, striking social media creatives to full-fledged website SEO strategies; everything that a modern-day brand needs to stay on top of the digital marketing game can be individually selected and performed online. The never-seen-before marketplace is a clear manifestation of the passion and dedication of eLance’s team to foster the digital marketing industry of Nepal.
