Mahalaxmi Bikas Bank tackles social evils in western Nepal with CSR contribution

Manifesting the tagline 'Sabal Bank, Safal Sahakarya', Mahalaxmi Bikas Bank has been providing quality financial services to the Nepalese for the past 28 years. Being mindful of its CSR obligations, the bank has also been conducting several exercises for the benefit of the society and environment as a whole. The bank has announced a financial contribution to Action Works Nepal's (NGO) initiative called 'Chhaupadi & Menstrual Health Hygiene Management Project'. The NGO has been working to raise awareness against the vile Chhaupadi practice and promoting safe menstrual practices in rural areas of Accham, Bajura, Bajhang, Doti, Darchula, Baitadi and Dadeldhura. 

The project will be held in the Dilashaini Rural Municipality of Baitadi district for 4 months. With a mission to eliminate a detrimental belief system in Chhaupadi and its habitual practice in the region, the project will raise awareness against this malpractice and teach healthy menstrual practices to young girls and women. The project shall conduct programs at community centers, street dramas, deuda dance and training to make reusable sanitary pads using locally available materials.
